The countdown is on for the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles (EVs) set to expire soon. Automakers are pulling out all the stops to attract buyers with enticing discounts and lease deals. As we approach August, let’s take a look at the EVs you can still lease for under $300 a month.

The first half of 2025 saw over 607,000 EVs sold in the US, and with the looming tax credit expiration, sales are expected to surge. Auto brands are offering record incentives, with average discounts reaching nearly $8,500 or 14.8% of the average transaction price, according to Cox Automotive.

Leading the charge in EV sales growth are GM and Honda, with the Chevy Equinox EV and Prologue making waves in the market. Both models are still available for lease under $300 a month in August.

Chevy is offering Equinox EV leases starting at $249 for 24 months with $6,149 due at signing. Additionally, you can take advantage of 0% APR for 60 months along with the $7,500 EV tax credit across Chevy’s entire EV lineup.

The Honda Prologue is another attractive option, with leases as low as $159 per month in ZEV states for a 24-month term with $1,099 due at signing. In other states, the lease starts at $229 per month.

Luxury seekers can opt for the Acura ZDX electric SUV, available for lease at $299 per month in ZEV states.

Hyundai and Kia are also offering competitive lease deals in August. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 steals the show with leases starting at $129 per month in California, while the IONIQ 6 is listed at $169 per month for 24 months with $3,999 due at signing. The three-row IONIQ 9 SUV is a standout deal at $299 per month for 36 months with $4,999 due at signing.
