Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 7, 2025, Hesai Technology, a leading provider of LiDAR sensor solutions, announced a strategic partnership with ROBOTERA, a Chinese embodied intelligence startup affiliated with Tsinghua University. The collaboration aims to advance collaborative perception technologies for intelligent service robots, catering to diverse consumer needs and enhancing user experiences in the service robotics sector.

ROBOTERA, a pioneering embodied intelligence company backed by Tsinghua University, is dedicated to developing a fully integrated hardware-software technology stack. The company’s mission is to create versatile intelligent agents for real-world applications, enabling robots to serve various industries and households globally.

One of ROBOTERA’s flagship products, the humanoid robot Q5, is designed for the service industry with lifelike human motion replication, advanced mobility, and innovative features such as the “Fairy Hand” for diverse operational scenarios. Equipped with 3D LiDAR and vision-based navigation, the robot can navigate through tight spaces and adapt to different environments, making it suitable for exhibitions, retail settings, and home services.

LiDAR technology, known as the “gold standard” in 3D environmental sensing, plays a crucial role in robotics by providing accurate environmental data for obstacle detection, path planning, and autonomous decision-making. Hesai Technology’s JT series of ultra-compact 3D LiDARs, designed for robotics and industrial applications, offers a wide field of view and seamless integration into robotic platforms.

Since its launch, Hesai Technology’s JT series has exceeded 100,000 units in deliveries within five months, solidifying its position as a market leader in LiDAR technology. The company’s expertise in LiDAR technology combined with ROBOTERA’s proficiency in embodied intelligence paves the way for innovative advancements in robotic applications.
