Hongqi, a renowned Chinese automaker, recently unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle market – the Tiangong 05 mid-size sedan. This sleek and futuristic vehicle was officially launched on February 26th, offering customers a range of cutting-edge features and impressive performance capabilities.

The Tiangong 05 is available in four different models, with prices starting at RMB 159,800 and going up to RMB 185,800. This translates to approximately US$22,000 to US$25,600, making it a competitive option in the mid-size electric sedan segment. The vehicle is positioned as a pure electric sedan with advanced intelligent driving capabilities, catering to tech-savvy consumers looking for a modern and eco-friendly vehicle.

One of the standout features of the Tiangong 05 is its impressive range options. Customers can choose between a 550km or 750km range model, with a future 850km version set to be released soon. This variety allows drivers to select the best option based on their daily driving needs and charging preferences.

In terms of design, the Tiangong 05 boasts a modern and sporty aesthetic that is sure to turn heads on the road. The front fascia features a distinctive closed design with the iconic Hongqi logo, while the sleek headlights and air intake add a touch of aggression to the overall look. The side profile is characterized by smooth lines and stylish wheels, while the rear showcases Y-shaped taillights and a blackened surround for a premium finish.

Moving inside the cabin, the Tiangong 05 offers a range of high-tech features designed to enhance the driving experience. A 15.6-inch central control screen takes center stage, complemented by a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a two-tone interior. Additional highlights include a 360-degree panoramic imaging system, wireless phone charging, and an augmented reality head-up display.

Under the hood, the Tiangong 05 is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor delivering 286 horsepower on a 400V platform. The available CLTC range options of 550km and 750km provide ample driving range for daily commutes and road trips. In the future, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version with a 900V platform and 408 horsepower will be introduced, offering an impressive 850km range for even greater versatility.
