Huawei-backed Aito has recently unveiled its latest model, the Aito M8 SUV, which has already received an overwhelming response in the market. With more than 20,000 orders secured within the first hour of its launch, the Aito M8 is set to redefine the family vehicle segment in China.

Deliveries for the Aito M8 are scheduled to commence on April 20, offering customers a premium driving experience at a starting price of RMB 359,800 ($49,250). The model is available in six variants, all of which are extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models, catering to different preferences and needs of consumers.

The Aito M8 comes in three trim options — Max, Max+, and Ultra — each offering five- and six-seat variants. The prices for the five-seat versions range from RMB 359,800 to RMB 429,800, while the six-seat versions start at RMB 369,800 and go up to RMB 449,800.

Featuring a sleek design with dimensions of 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, the Aito M8 boasts a powerful engine with a displacement of 1.5 L as a range extender, delivering a maximum power of 118 kW. Additionally, the front electric motor produces 165 kW of power, while the rear electric motor generates 227 kW, enabling the model to achieve a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

The Aito M8 offers two options for battery pack capacity — 52 kWh and 36 kWh — and three choices for battery range, ranging from 161 km to 240 km. With a combined range of up to 1,526 kilometers when fully fueled and charged, the Aito M8 ensures a seamless driving experience for its users.

Equipped with Huawei’s advanced driver assistance system, the Aito M8 features cutting-edge technology, including a 192-channel roof LiDAR, solid-state LiDAR, and three 4D millimeter-wave radars. This ensures enhanced safety and convenience for drivers and passengers alike.

With the Aito M8 receiving an overwhelming response in the market, the model is expected to compete with Li Auto’s Li L8 EREV, offering customers a diverse range of options in the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) segment. Aito, a joint venture between Huawei and Seres Group, aims to revolutionize the automotive industry with its innovative models, such as the Aito M5, Aito M7, and Aito M9.

As Aito continues to expand its presence in the market, the Aito M8 stands out as a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the electric vehicle segment. With deliveries set to begin soon, the Aito M8 is poised to make a significant impact on the automotive landscape in China.
