Luxeed, a collaborative automotive brand between Huawei and Chery, has unveiled updated versions of its Luxeed S7 sedan and Luxeed R7 coupe SUV in a bid to capture a larger market share. These updated models were introduced at the Huawei HIMA business fall launch event with competitive starting prices of RMB 229,800 ($32,130) for the Luxeed S7 and RMB 249,800 for the Luxeed R7.

The prices of these models are lower than their initial pre-sale prices, indicating Luxeed’s commitment to offering value to its customers. Following the launch, the brand announced on Weibo that it received over 5,000 firm orders within the first hour, showcasing strong consumer interest in the updated vehicles.

The Luxeed S7 sedan is available in three variants – Max, Max+, and Max Ultra – with starting prices ranging from RMB 229,800 to RMB 289,800. On the other hand, the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV also offers three variants – Max, Max+, and Max Ultra – with starting prices ranging from RMB 249,800 to RMB 309,800.

These updated models mark Luxeed’s entry into “Phase 2.0” as they come equipped with Huawei’s ADS 4 driving assistance system. In terms of hardware, both vehicles feature advanced technology such as a 192-channel LiDAR, a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars, enhancing safety and driving capabilities.

Luxeed’s collaboration with Huawei and Chery has been further solidified through a new cooperation agreement signed on August 7. As part of this agreement, Luxeed plans to invest over RMB 1 billion and expand its R&D team to 5,000 people to strengthen its technological leadership in the market.

The Luxeed S7 sedan, built on Huawei’s Giant Whale 800-volt high-voltage platform, offers a CLTC range of up to 855 kilometers. In comparison, the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV provides two powertrain options – battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants – with impressive CLTC ranges of up to 736 kilometers and 360 kilometers, respectively.

With these updated models, Luxeed aims to establish a strong presence in the electric vehicle market and cater to the evolving needs of consumers. The brand’s focus on innovation, technology, and customer satisfaction sets it apart as a key player in the automotive industry, promising an exciting future for electric mobility enthusiasts.
