Huawei’s new automotive brand, Maextro, in partnership with Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), recently unveiled its first model, the Maextro S800 luxury executive sedan. The car is set to target the high-end market segment with an estimated price tag ranging from RMB 1 million to RMB 1.5 million.

The launch of the Maextro S800 follows the completion of the brand’s first dedicated factory in Hefei, Anhui province, where JAC is headquartered. The state-of-the-art facility, equipped with nearly 1,500 robots, is designed to automate key manufacturing processes such as joining, painting, and gluing. With an emphasis on artificial intelligence technology, the factory boasts 86 quality review gates and over 25,000 quality control points to ensure top-notch production standards.

Maextro is the latest addition to Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), joining brands like Stelato, Aito, and Luxeed developed in collaboration with local carmakers. The Maextro S800 was officially unveiled at a product launch event on November 26, with bookings now open for interested customers. The model is available in both 4-seat and 5-seat variants and offers a choice between battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options.

Key specifications of the Maextro S800 include a length of 5,480 mm, width of 2,000 mm, height of 1,536 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. The car is offered in dual-motor and tri-motor versions, with varying peak power outputs for different configurations. With a focus on innovation and luxury, the Maextro S800 is poised to make a significant impact in the luxury executive sedan market.

Those interested in reserving the Maextro S800 can do so by paying an intentional deposit of RMB 20,000. The model’s inclusion in the regulatory filing catalog by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has shed light on its core specifications, making it a highly anticipated addition to the electric vehicle market.
