Huawei and JAC Group Unveil New Luxury EV Brand “Zunjie”

Huawei’s Chairman, Yu Chengdong, recently announced the official name of the joint automotive brand with JAC Group during a live broadcast. The new brand will be named “Zunjie,” putting an end to previous speculations about it being called “Aojie.”

This marks the completion of Huawei’s collaborations with four different car manufacturers, each resulting in a unique brand. Alongside Zunjie, the other brands include Wenjie (AITO) in partnership with SERES, Zhijie (LUXEED) with Chery, and Xiangjie (STELATO) with BAIC Group.

At the 2024 China Auto Forum, JAC Group’s Chairman and General Manager, Xiang Xingchu, provided updates on their collaboration with Huawei. The first vehicle under the Zunjie brand is currently undergoing comprehensive testing and is set to enter production by the end of this year, with plans for market launch in the first half of 2025. Additionally, development for future models is already in progress.

Earlier this year, Yu Chengdong hinted that the first model under the Zunjie brand would be positioned as a premium offering, competing with top-tier luxury brands like Maybach and Rolls-Royce. To achieve this level of luxury, Huawei and JAC Group have developed a new platform and smart electric architecture, paving the way for multiple product offerings. Their partnership, which began in 2019, has led to the construction of a factory with an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

The collaboration between Huawei and JAC Group signifies a significant step into the automotive industry, showcasing a commitment to innovation and luxury in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on the Zunjie brand and its upcoming lineup of luxury electric vehicles.
