Hyundai Motor America has introduced new features to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) charging experience for its customers through the MyHyundai with Bluelink app. These updates aim to simplify the public charging process for Hyundai electric vehicle owners, providing increased flexibility and control over charging while enhancing user convenience.
The Vice President of Digital Business Planning and Connected Operations at Hyundai Motor North America, Manish Mehrotra, emphasized the app’s commitment to convenience and innovation in the automotive industry. The new features, including plug and charge and in-app charging capabilities, allow drivers to recharge their EVs seamlessly using the MyHyundai with Bluelink app. Users can now find and pay for charging directly within the app, eliminating the need for third-party apps or physical credit cards across most US charging networks.
With the ability to locate, navigate, select, and activate charging stations, as well as monitor charging sessions within the app, Hyundai electric vehicle owners have greater control over their charging experience. The app also offers Hyundai Pay, enabling users to add credit cards directly within the app for seamless payments.
In addition to charge management tools and remote command execution, the app now offers dynamic EV trip planning with charger routing accessible on both the app and the vehicle’s infotainment screen. The in-app charging feature is compatible with the 2025 IONIQ 5, 2026 IONIQ 9, and future IONIQ and electric models, with support for charging networks such as IONNA, Tesla Supercharger, ChargePoint, and EVgo.
These new features not only simplify the charging process but also enhance the overall ownership experience for Hyundai electric vehicle owners. The company continues to lead the way in delivering cutting-edge solutions that improve customers’ lives and make electric vehicle charging more accessible and user-friendly.
This development comes after Hyundai Motor reported a 2% year-over-year decrease in global sales, with 365,812 units sold as of March. As Hyundai continues to innovate and enhance the EV charging experience for its customers, the MyHyundai with Bluelink app remains a key tool for electric vehicle owners to manage their charging needs efficiently and conveniently.
