Hyundai Motor Group Unveils Pleos Mobility Software Brand at Developer Conference

Hyundai Motor Group recently introduced its new mobility software brand ‘Pleos’ at the ‘Pleos 25’ developer conference held in Seoul. This unveiling came alongside plans for collaboration with global partners to enhance in-vehicle app ecosystems, marking a significant step towards the Group’s transformation into a mobility tech company.

During the event, the development status of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) was shared, highlighting the Group’s plans to create an in-vehicle app market and ecosystem based on its next-generation infotainment system. Chang Song, President and Head of Hyundai Motor and Kia’s Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Division, emphasized the Group’s dedication to SDV development and its evolution into a software-centered mobility experiences provider.

The ultimate goal of the Group is to achieve Cloud Mobility, where all forms of mobility are seamlessly connected through cloud-based software, constantly evolving over time. Pleos, the newly introduced mobility software platform, aims to create a connected mobility experience that expands beyond vehicles to fleets, hardware to software, and ultimately to entire mobility infrastructure and cities.

Pleos, derived from the Greek word ‘Pleo’ meaning ‘more’ and ‘OS’ for ‘Operating System’, symbolizes the Group’s commitment to advancing technology and adding user-centric value to the movement of people and objects for increased freedom of mobility.

To realize a software-centered mobility environment, the Group is progressing towards SDVs through innovations in electrical and electronic (E&E) architecture. This includes the development of the Group’s own vehicle OS and Pleos Connect, enabling vehicles to function as efficient and flexible software platforms, enhancing connectivity between vehicles and infrastructure.
