Hyundai is set to unveil its new Ioniq 6 N performance saloon at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. The hot saloon, which draws inspiration from the extreme RN22e concept car, features twin rear spoilers and a chunky diffuser for enhanced aerodynamic performance.
The front end of the Ioniq 6 N takes cues from the sporty N Line variant of the standard Ioniq 6, with design changes aimed at achieving a smoother and more refined silhouette. According to Simon Loasby, vice president of Hyundai styling, the addition of a large wing helps counter lift, while widened fenders give the saloon a more aggressive stance.
Inside, the Ioniq 6 N is expected to feature components borrowed from the Ioniq 5 N crossover, including a three-spoke steering wheel with N-specific drive-mode buttons and front bucket seats for added support. Power is likely to come from a 641bhp dual-motor powertrain, similar to the one used in the Ioniq 5 N, capable of delivering power like an internal combustion engine with simulated gears.
While Hyundai may boost the power output for the Ioniq 6 N, the current setup offers a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds, putting it in line with popular ICE models such as the BMW M3. With its performance-focused design and powerful drivetrain, the Ioniq 6 N is set to make a splash in the world of electric performance saloons. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting new release from Hyundai.
