The discount, which is available from February 5-28, brings the starting price of the IM L6 down by RMB 30,000 to RMB 189,900 yuan. This represents a 13.64 percent reduction from the original price of RMB 219,900 yuan.
The IM L6, officially launched on May 13, 2024, is the fourth model and second sedan introduced by IM Motors. It is a mid-to-large-size all-electric sedan with dimensions measuring 4,931 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. The model is currently available in five variants, with official starting prices ranging from RMB 219,900 to RMB 305,900. However, during this limited-time discount period, the prices have been further reduced to RMB 209,900 to RMB 295,900.
The discounted pricing strategy by IM Motors comes amidst a resumption of a price war in the electric vehicle market. Earlier today, Tesla announced an RMB 8,000 insurance subsidy for all variants of the Model 3 electric sedan in China. This move by Tesla is seen as the first shot fired in the renewed price war in the industry. Additionally, Xpeng introduced a financing policy in China that offers 0 percent down payment and 0 percent interest for up to 5 years.
