Ji Yue Expands PPA Intelligent Driving Coverage to 300 Cities in China

Ji Yue, the automotive robot maker co-backed by Geely and Baidu, has recently announced the expansion of its PPA (Point-to-Point Autopilot) intelligent driving system to 300 cities in China. This milestone was achieved as of June 30, with a significant increase from the previous coverage of 100 cities in May. The company now boasts a total road coverage of over 500,000 kilometers, providing advanced autonomous driving solutions in urban areas across the country.

The PPA system, based on Baidu Apollo’s cutting-edge technology, now supports national expressways and elevated roads, with coverage extended to 26 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. This includes challenging regions such as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, and Hainan, showcasing the system’s ability to handle varied road conditions with precision and reliability. Ji Yue aims to achieve nationwide coverage in the near future, solidifying its position as a leader in intelligent driving solutions.

In line with the latest advancements in Baidu Apollo’s technology, Ji Yue has released a system upgrade to all users, introducing version 1.6.0 with enhanced intelligent driving perception capabilities. The new model improves obstacle recognition accuracy and perception distance, allowing for earlier predictions and increased safety on the road. Ji Yue’s commitment to innovation is evident in its utilization of pure vision technology for advanced intelligent driving, making it a pioneer in the field.

The Ji Yue 01 vehicle stands out as the only vehicle in China, and one of the few globally, to employ pure vision technology for intelligent driving. By harnessing Baidu Apollo’s autonomous driving capabilities and safety systems, combined with the unique BEV+OCC+Transformer approach, the PPA system achieves centimeter-level accuracy in obstacle perception. This level of precision extends to various road obstacles, including temporary construction barriers, breakdown vehicles, and large objects, enhancing adaptability and ensuring smooth navigation for users.
