A New Era for KGM: Introducing the Actyon
With the launch of the Actyon, KGM is setting its sights on a new audience and aiming to make a statement in the market. Unlike its predecessor, the Torres, which offered entry- and mid-level trims, the Actyon will be available in the UK in the premium K50 trim only. According to KGM’s UK executives, this trim is packed with all the necessary features to appeal to discerning customers.
The interior of the Actyon showcases a design philosophy known as ‘horizontal simplicity’. This is exemplified by the presence of two 12.3-inch screens housed in a single unit, positioned side by side on a sleek shelf adorned with wood-styled veneer that spans the length of the dashboard.
One of the standout features of the interior is the redesigned steering wheel, which not only enhances the sporty feel of the cabin but also offers a clearer view of the instrument panel. Fun fact: this steering wheel is the first to feature the KGM logo at its center, a detail that enthusiasts will appreciate.
The center console of the Actyon houses the gear selector, which boasts a ‘crystal-type’ design reminiscent of luxury car interiors. The electronically adjustable seats come equipped with heating and cooling functions, ensuring a comfortable driving experience.
To infuse a touch of sportiness into the cabin, the Actyon features black nappa leather upholstery with red trim accents and carbonfibre-esque detailing. Despite not exuding a premium feel, the interior strikes a balance between sophistication and functionality. Both the front and rear seats offer ample space for passengers.
Thanks to its commanding seating position, low bonnet, and chunky wing mirrors, the Actyon provides excellent visibility from all angles. Although the rear window tapers slightly due to the coupé roofline, visibility remains satisfactory.
The infotainment system in the Actyon will be familiar to users of other KGM models, offering decent functionality albeit with some occasional complexity. The steering wheel is equipped with physical buttons for key controls, including a customizable favorites button for quick access to frequently used features.
For those who prefer a more personalized driving experience, the shortcut menu on the infotainment screen allows for easy adjustment of settings such as lane keeping assist and speed limit warning. These features, while useful, can be a bit overzealous in their alerts, so customization may be desired to avoid constant notifications.
