The groundbreaking Xpeng AeroHT Land Aircraft Carrier is set to revolutionize the way we travel, with its innovative design and cutting-edge technology. Unveiled at the recent CES tech show in Las Vegas, this six-wheeled off-truck boasts a built-in modular ‘flying car’ that is sure to turn heads.

Manufactured by Xpeng AeroHT, a subsidiary of the renowned Chinese electric car maker Xpeng Motors, the Land Aircraft Carrier has already garnered significant interest, with over 3000 ‘intent orders’ received. The vehicle was first announced in January 2024 and has since undergone successful test flights in China, receiving type certification approval for public flights.

Designed to cater to a diverse range of customers, Xpeng AeroHT co-founder and chief designer Wang Tan expressed his excitement for the Land Aircraft Carrier’s versatility. “This will appeal to multiple customer types,” Tan explained. “There are people who enjoy off-road adventures, and this vehicle’s six-wheel setup and differential lock provide exceptional off-road capabilities. Additionally, for aviation enthusiasts like myself, the convenience of having a personal eVTOL that can be transported anywhere is truly game-changing.”

The ‘mothership’ EV, developed primarily by Xpeng Motors, features a sleek and aerodynamic design, measuring approximately 5.5 meters in length and 2.0 meters in width. Despite its size, Tan emphasized that the vehicle is designed to fit in standard parking spaces, making it practical for everyday use. The Land Aircraft Carrier’s striking appearance includes a bold front end, a sloping rear roof, and ‘suicide’ rear doors that create a spacious central opening.

While specific technical details have not been disclosed by Xpeng AeroHT, the company has confirmed that the Land Aircraft Carrier will be powered by a range-extender EV powertrain, providing a combined range of over 620 miles on the Chinese test cycle. This impressive range ensures that drivers can embark on long journeys without the need for frequent recharging.
