Kia EV9 Can Power Your Home with V2H

The Kia EV9 is already making waves as an impressive electric SUV with its sleek design, spacious interior, and advanced technology. Now, it’s taking things to the next level with the introduction of the Wallbox Quasar 2 home charger. This new charger allows Kia EV9 owners to power their homes for up to three days and even save on energy costs. Watch the demo below to see just how easy it is to use.

Wallbox recently announced the opening of pre-orders for the Quasar 2, a bi-directional charger designed specifically for Kia EV9 owners. This innovative charger is the first of its kind to enable Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capabilities for the electric SUV.

With the Quasar 2 charger and Wallbox Power Recovery Unit, EV9 owners can now use their vehicle as a power source during power outages. The Power Recovery Unit can provide backup power for up to three days, giving homeowners peace of mind in case of emergencies.

The Quasar 2 is priced at $6,440, which includes the Power Recovery Unit. This price does not include taxes and installation fees. Interested EV9 owners can sign up for the waitlist with a $100 deposit on the Wallbox website.

Initially, pre-orders will be limited to residents of California, Texas, Florida, New York, Washington, New Jersey, and Illinois. However, Wallbox plans to roll out the Quasar 2 nationwide in the near future. Pre-order customers will have priority access to the units, with shipping expected to follow shortly after.

According to Wallbox, the Quasar 2 and Power Recovery Unit can help homeowners save up to $1,500 per year on energy costs. The all-in-one solution allows users to charge their EV with solar energy (solar panels sold separately) and store it in the vehicle’s battery. This energy can then be used to power the home during peak hours, helping to reduce energy expenses. Additionally, the unit features pre-set scheduling options to charge the EV9 when energy rates are lowest.

The Wallbox App makes it easy to manage and monitor energy usage, allowing users to switch between grid/solar power, charge the vehicle, and power the home seamlessly. To showcase the simplicity of the system, Wallbox has released a video demonstrating how the Kia EV9 can power various home devices using the Quasar 2.

In conclusion, the Wallbox Quasar 2 is a game-changer for Kia EV9 owners, offering a convenient and cost-effective way to power their homes and vehicles. With its innovative V2H capabilities and energy-saving features, the Quasar 2 is sure to revolutionize the way we think about electric vehicles and home energy management.
