Kia Sportage Review 2025, Price & Specs

The Kia Sportage has always been a popular choice for those who appreciate a design-led SUV with a slightly more rakish appeal. With the third-generation model introduced in 2010, Kia tapped into the demand for SUV-coupés, offering a unique alternative to boxier mid-sized rivals like the Toyota RAV4.

One of the distinguishing features of the Kia Sportage is its interior design, which prioritizes style over sheer passenger space. The latest model, particularly the range-topping GT-Line S variant, may not offer as much headroom as some of its competitors, but it makes up for it with striking visual elements such as tomahawk-shaped air vents and a widescreen instrumentation-cum-infotainment ‘flight panel’. While there are some cheaper, harder-feeling materials in the cabin, overall the interior creates a sense of visual interest and ambition.

In terms of comfort and functionality, the Kia Sportage does not disappoint. The driver’s seat is comfortable and well-designed, with a clear view of the digital instrument screen behind the wheel. The infotainment system is user-friendly, with touchscreen operation and shortcut keys for easy navigation. Additionally, Kia has thoughtfully included features like USB-C charging ports and bag storage hooks in the second row.

When it comes to practicality, the Kia Sportage falls slightly short compared to its rivals. The rear seats do not fold completely flat, and the loading length is slightly shorter than that of a RAV4. However, the boot space is generally good, with additional storage options under the floor and a stowage space for the roller load-bay cover.

With the 2025 update, every Kia Sportage now comes equipped with a dual 12.3-inch screen, central touchscreen infotainment system, ChatGPT AI assistant, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is easy to navigate and user-friendly, with clear displays and intuitive controls. The addition of a head-up display on top-spec GT-Line S models enhances the overall multimedia experience.

Overall, the Kia Sportage offers a unique blend of style, comfort, and functionality. While it may not be the most practical choice in its class, it certainly makes a statement with its design-led approach and cutting-edge technology. Whether you’re looking for a stylish SUV with a touch of flair, the Kia Sportage is definitely worth considering.
