Kia wants you to love hatchbacks again with the stylish new EV4

Kia is gearing up to make a statement in the electric vehicle market with the launch of the EV4, its first electric hatchback. The company believes that hatchbacks will make a comeback, starting with the EV4, which is expected to generate significant demand.

At the recent EV Day event, Kia unveiled four EV4 models, including two sedans and two hatchbacks, all fully electric. The EV4 is part of Kia’s new entry-level EV lineup, which also includes models like the EV3, EV5, and the upcoming EV2.

Following the successful launch of the EV4 sedan in Korea earlier this year, Kia is now preparing to introduce the hatchback version in Europe. The EV4 is set to kick off a series of new hatchbacks that Kia believes could compete with popular models like the Volkswagen Golf.

Kia’s executive vice president, Ted Lee, sees a big opportunity for hatchbacks in Europe and is confident that Kia’s new series of hatchbacks will be well-received. The company plans to launch the EV4 hatch in the UK in October, with the K4 hatch set to follow shortly after.

Unlike the sedan variant, which is imported from South Korea, the EV4 hatch will be built in Europe at Kia’s plant in Slovakia. This move signifies Kia’s commitment to the European market and its goal of expanding its presence in the region.

Kia is currently the third-best-selling brand in the UK, with strong sales and a growing market share. Despite facing competition from new Chinese models, Kia remains focused on driving sustainable growth and maintaining its position in the market.

The EV3, Kia’s compact electric SUV, has already made a splash in the UK market, becoming the best-selling retail EV in the country. With the EV4 joining the lineup and the upcoming launch of the PV5 electric van, Kia is laying the foundation for continued success and growth in the electric vehicle segment.

While the EV4 faced a slow start in Korea due to limited inventory, Kia remains optimistic about the hatchback’s prospects. The company is confident that the EV4 will appeal to consumers looking for a stylish and practical electric vehicle option.

With the EV4 hatchback on the horizon, Kia is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market and solidify its position as a key player in the industry. Watch out for the official launch of the EV4 hatchback and see for yourself why Kia believes hatchbacks are making a comeback.
