Kia’s low-cost EVs are taking over, now comes its first EV sedan

Kia’s new EV3 and EV5 are making waves in the electric vehicle market, with sales climbing in key markets around the world. The introduction of more low-cost EV models, such as the upcoming EV4 sedan, is set to further solidify Kia’s position in the global electric vehicle market.

The EV3, Kia’s compact electric SUV, has been a top seller in Korea and Europe. With prices starting at around $30,700 in Korea and €35,990 in Europe, the EV3 has been a popular choice for consumers looking for an affordable electric vehicle. In fact, the EV3 helped push EV sales to a new record in Europe in the first quarter of this year, with Kia reporting a 17% increase in sales compared to the previous quarter.

But the momentum doesn’t stop there. Kia is set to launch the EV4, its first electric sedan and hatchback, as well as the PV5, its first electric van. The EV5, another compact electric SUV from Kia, has also been performing well in markets like Australia, where it was the fourth-best-selling EV through April.

While the EV5 is not planned for release in the US, it has been a hit in China and Australia. On the other hand, the EV3 is expected to launch in the US later this year or early 2026. Kia is also gearing up to introduce the EV4 in global markets, including Europe and the US, with prices expected to range from $35,000 to $40,000.

Despite record sales in the US for Kia, the company saw a decline in electric vehicle sales in April. However, with new models like the EV4 and EV3 on the horizon, Kia is confident that it will continue to lead in the global electrification space.

Overall, Kia’s foray into the electric vehicle market with its low-cost EV models is proving to be successful, with strong sales numbers and a promising lineup of new models set to hit the market in the coming months.
