Leapmotor, a prominent player in the electric vehicle market, has recently introduced its latest offering, the B01 electric sedan. This sleek vehicle is designed to cater to China’s mid-size sedan market, providing consumers with an affordable yet high-quality option.

The B01 measures 4,770 mm in length, positioning it between the Xpeng Mona M03 and Tesla Model 3 in terms of size. It boasts an impressive CLTC range of up to 650 km, making it a compelling choice for those looking for a vehicle with an extended driving range.

During a recent event, Leapmotor announced the commencement of pre-sales for the B01, with prices starting at RMB 105,800 ($14,770). This pricing places it below the Xpeng Mona M03 in terms of affordability, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers.

The B01 is available in five variants during the pre-sales phase, with three variants offering a CLTC range of 550 km and two variants offering a range of 650 km. The higher-priced variants in each range option come equipped with LiDAR technology to enhance the vehicle’s smart driving capabilities.

This electric sedan is the second model in Leapmotor’s B series, following the launch of the B10 SUV earlier this year. The B01 made its debut at the 2025 Shanghai auto show, showcasing dimensions of 4,770 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height.

In terms of performance, the B01 features a single motor with two rear motor options, offering peak power outputs ranging from 132 kW to 160 kW and peak torque ranging from 175 Nm to 240 Nm. This powertrain enables the B01 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 to 8.7 seconds.

The vehicle is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, with variants offering a CLTC range of 550 km featuring a 56.2 kWh battery and those with a range of 650 km equipped with a 67.1 kWh battery. Additionally, the B01 supports fast charging, allowing it to reach an 80% charge in approximately 18 minutes.

Leapmotor has set ambitious sales targets for the B series, with management expressing confidence in achieving monthly sales of over 40,000 units. The company’s recent delivery figures reflect this optimism, with a record 45,067 vehicles delivered in May alone.

Looking ahead, Leapmotor aims to deliver between 500,000 to 600,000 units in 2025, a substantial increase from the 293,724 units delivered in 2024. The company’s commitment to innovation and growth is evident in its continuous efforts to expand its product lineup and reach new milestones in the electric vehicle market.

In conclusion, the Leapmotor B01 electric sedan represents a significant step forward for the company, offering consumers a compelling combination of performance, range, and affordability in a stylish package. With its competitive pricing and advanced features, the B01 is poised to make a strong impact in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
