Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leapmotor has recently announced updates to its popular C10 model in the Chinese market. The C10, which competes with the Skoda Enyaq, has received improvements in power, range, and technology.

One of the most significant upgrades is the transition from a 400V to an 800V electrical system. This change is expected to increase the maximum charging speed of the C10, which currently stands at 84kW. The rear-mounted electric motor has also been upgraded from 215bhp to 295bhp, resulting in a faster 0-62mph sprint time of 5.9 seconds, down from 7.5 seconds.

In addition, the C10 now features a new LFP battery pack with 5kWh more capacity, bringing the total to 74.9kWh. This has increased the car’s range from 329 miles to 376 miles on the Chinese CLTC test cycle. While official figures for the European WLTP range test have not been released, it is expected that the new C10 will surpass the current range of 261 miles and approach the 300-mile mark.

The infotainment system of the C10 has also been upgraded to run on a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor. Additionally, the car now comes equipped with a lidar sensor as part of its array of ADAS sensors.

Despite these updates, the exterior design of the C10 remains unchanged, although a new purple paint color option is now available. Leapmotor has not yet announced when the revised C10 will be available in British showrooms, but the brand is gearing up for global expansion with a lineup that includes the C10, C10 REEV, T03 city car, B10 crossover, B05 Volkswagen Golf-sized hatchback, A10 Renault 4 rival, and an entry-level model named A05.
