Stellantis-backed Leapmotor recently celebrated a significant milestone as its 500,000th production vehicle rolled off the assembly line. The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker has experienced exponential growth this year, with sales soaring and production reaching new heights.

The 500,000th vehicle produced by Leapmotor is the C16 model, which was introduced in China in June. This model received an overwhelming response, with over 10,000 firm orders within the first month of its launch. The C16 is available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, continuing Leapmotor’s tradition of offering a diverse range of models to cater to different customer preferences.

In addition to the success of the C16, Leapmotor has been achieving record-breaking sales figures in recent months. The company sold over 30,000 units in both August and September, with a particularly impressive performance in the last week of September where more than 10,000 units were sold in a single week.

Leapmotor’s growth trajectory is evident in its delivery numbers, with 33,767 vehicles delivered in September alone. This marks the fourth consecutive month of record-breaking sales for the company. In the first nine months of the year, Leapmotor delivered a total of 172,861 vehicles, reflecting a 94.60 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The company’s success in the Chinese market has also paved the way for expansion into international markets. Leapmotor is collaborating with Stellantis to explore opportunities in overseas markets, with plans to introduce its models in 13 European countries. The recent debut of the B10 compact SUV at the Paris auto show signifies Leapmotor’s global ambitions, with plans to launch the model in 2025.

As Leapmotor continues to innovate and expand its product lineup, the company remains committed to providing high-quality electric vehicles that cater to the evolving needs of consumers. With a strong focus on sustainability and technological advancement, Leapmotor is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle industry.

Overall, Leapmotor’s journey to producing its 500,000th vehicle is a testament to the company’s dedication to innovation, growth, and sustainability in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.
