New Review: Leapmotor T03 – Small Car, Big Space

When you step inside the Leapmotor T03, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the amount of space this small car offers. Even our 6ft-plus testers had no trouble getting comfortable, with plenty of shoulder room, headroom, and legroom for two adults. Compared to other cars in its class like the Spring and 500 Electric, the T03 truly shines, even putting the larger Mini Cooper to shame.

The interior design of the T03 aims to make you feel like you’re in a much larger and more sophisticated vehicle. The dashboard is well assembled, the seats are comfortable, and there’s even an Isofix mounting for a child seat, making it a practical choice for families.

While the boot space is slightly below average for its class, there is still enough room for an airline carry-on suitcase and a rucksack. The interior features hard, dark plastic surfaces, but considering the affordability of the T03, it’s a minor trade-off for the overall quality of the car.

Infotainment System

The T03 is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is impressive for a small car. However, there are some major drawbacks to this system. The climate controls are integrated into the touchscreen, making it cumbersome to adjust while driving. The icons are small, and the display quality leaves much to be desired.

Disabling the ADAS functions requires navigating through multiple menus on the touchscreen and putting the car in ‘Park’, which can be inconvenient. The driver attention system, while well-intentioned, can be distracting with its frequent warnings and high-pitched chimes.

Unfortunately, the infotainment system does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, making it less user-friendly. Bluetooth connectivity can also be unreliable, with testers experiencing multiple disconnections over a short period.

Overall, the Leapmotor T03 offers a spacious interior and some impressive features for its price point. While there are some shortcomings with the infotainment system, the T03 remains a practical and affordable choice for those in the market for a small car.
