LG Energy Solution Inaugurates China Headquarters in Nanjing
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- LG Energy Solution made a significant announcement at the World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference 2024 on December 22. The company revealed the establishment of its China headquarters in the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, marking the 10th company set up by LG Corp. in this zone.

The newly established headquarters will oversee various operations for LG Energy Solution’s subsidiaries in China, including accounting, tax, legal affairs, logistics, procurement, and cross-border cash pools management. Additionally, the headquarters will focus on R&D in new energy vehicle batteries and materials, as well as investments in upstream and downstream industries.
LG Corp. has been investing in the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone since 1995, with over USD 8 billion invested in establishing 10 companies and creating nearly 30,000 jobs. The company’s industrial chain enterprises, in collaboration with over 40 supporting enterprises, achieved a total output value of over 130 billion yuan in 2023, contributing significantly to the development of Nanjing’s economic and technological development zone.
Currently, LG Energy Solution is engaged in its intelligent battery production line project in the region. The company’s “smart manufacturing” system, driven by automation, informatization, and intelligence through big data and artificial intelligence, aims to enhance production efficiency, resource utilization, and product quality across the entire product lifecycle.
During the conference, LG Energy Solution showcased a range of products, including power batteries, energy storage batteries, and small batteries.

At the power battery stand, LG Energy Solution presented comprehensive new energy vehicle-related solutions, including cells, modules, BMS (battery management system), and battery packs for passenger and commercial vehicles. The energy storage battery spot showcased applications in the grid, commercial residential sectors, and UPS (uninterruptible power supply) equipment. In the small battery area, the company displayed its cylindrical batteries utilized in various devices like 4-wheel light electric vehicles, power tools, and robots.
