Li Auto, a major player in the Chinese electric vehicle market, recently released its delivery numbers for February, showing both year-on-year growth and a slight decline from the previous month. In February, the company delivered 26,263 vehicles, marking a 29.69 percent increase from the same period last year but a 12.24 percent decrease from January’s figures.
Overall, in the first two months of the year, Li Auto delivered a total of 56,190 vehicles, representing a 9.29 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Since its inception, the company has delivered a total of 1,190,062 vehicles by the end of February.
The beginning of the year is typically a slower period for the Chinese auto industry, especially during the Chinese New Year holiday. This year, the holiday fell between January 28 and February 4, impacting sales across the board.
Li Auto specializes in extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) and primarily offers SUV models such as the Li L6, L7, L8, and L9. However, the company recently expanded its lineup with the launch of the Li Mega MPV, its first battery electric vehicle (BEV), and the 2024 models of its existing EREVs.
In a recent announcement, Li Auto revealed that it will not be updating its existing models for the 2025 model year. Instead, the company plans to introduce smart driving edition updates in May, focusing on enhancing the smart driving hardware in its vehicles. These updates will not alter the battery, electric drive, exterior, or interior design of the current models.
As of February 28, Li Auto boasts an extensive retail and service network in China, with 500 retail stores across 150 cities, 488 servicing centers, and authorized body and paint shops in 224 cities. Additionally, the company operates 1,874 supercharging stations with 10,008 superchargers across the country.
Looking ahead, Li Auto continues to make strides in the electric vehicle market, with plans to introduce new models and enhance its existing lineup with advanced smart driving technologies. Stay tuned for more updates on Li Auto’s future developments in the rapidly evolving EV industry.
