Li Auto recently announced that it delivered a total of 158,696 cars in the fourth quarter of 2024, falling slightly below its initial guidance range of 160,000 to 170,000 vehicles. Despite this, the company saw a significant rebound in December, with a record-breaking delivery of 58,513 vehicles, surpassing the previous record set in September.
Compared to the same period last year, Li Auto’s deliveries in December were up by 16.21 percent, showcasing a strong growth trajectory. The company’s fourth-quarter deliveries represented a 20.40 percent increase year-on-year and a 3.84 percent increase from the third quarter.
For the full year of 2024, Li Auto achieved a total of 500,508 vehicle deliveries, marking a 33.10 percent increase compared to the previous year. As of the end of December, the company has delivered a cumulative total of 1,133,872 vehicles since its inception.
In terms of retail presence, Li Auto currently operates 502 retail stores in 150 cities, along with 478 service centers and authorized body and paint stores in 225 cities. Additionally, the company has established 1,727 supercharging stations equipped with 9,100 charging piles across China.
Despite the successful delivery numbers, Li Auto has not introduced any new models in the past eight months, with the most recent launch being the Li L6 SUV in April. The Li L6 joins the company’s lineup of L-series EREVs, offering a starting price of RMB 249,800 ($34,220), making it the most affordable model in the series.
Looking ahead, Li Auto had initially planned to unveil more battery electric vehicle (BEV) models in the second half of 2024 but postponed this plan to the first half of 2025 during a May 20 earnings call.
In conclusion, Li Auto’s recent delivery performance highlights its continued growth and expansion within the electric vehicle market. With a strong presence in China and a diverse lineup of electric vehicles, the company is poised for further success in the coming year.
