Lynk & Co has recently unveiled its latest flagship hybrid SUV, the Lynk & Co 900, in an effort to target the large SUV market in China. The car, which boasts a starting price of RMB 309,900 ($42,480), has already garnered significant attention, with over 10,000 firm orders secured within just one hour of availability.

The Lynk & Co 900 is set to compete with other large SUVs in the market, such as the Li L9 from Li Auto, the N9 from Denza, and the M9 from Aito. This new model marks Lynk & Co’s first release following its merger with sister brand Zeekr into the Zeekr Group earlier this year.

At the launch event in Shanghai, Zeekr Group CEO Andy An highlighted the brand’s strategy to expand its premium offerings through Zeekr, while diversifying its lineup with Lynk & Co. The Lynk & Co 900 comes in four variants, with prices starting at RMB 309,900 and going up to RMB 416,900. Limited-time entitlements are also available, allowing for reduced starting prices on each variant.

Built on the SPA Evo platform, the Lynk & Co 900 is the largest vehicle in Lynk & Co’s lineup to date, measuring 5,240 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,810 mm in height, and featuring a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. The vehicle offers a unique 2+2+2 six-seat layout with rotating second-row seats and a pure flat-floor design that eliminates traditional transmission tunnels.

In terms of powertrain options, the two lower-priced variants are equipped with a 1.5T engine generating 140 kW, along with dual electric motors for a combined peak power of 530 kW. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 4.8 seconds. The higher-priced variants feature a 2.0T engine with 187 kW of power, along with different motor configurations for enhanced performance.

The Lynk & Co 900 also comes with a range of battery options, including lithium ternary batteries and Freevoy Batteries from CATL. The vehicle boasts a combined range of up to 1,443 kilometers when fully fueled and charged. Additionally, advanced features such as roof-mounted LiDAR and Nvidia smart driving chips are available on select variants.

With its innovative design, powerful performance, and advanced technology, the Lynk & Co 900 is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive large SUV market in China. The initial response to the vehicle has been overwhelmingly positive, with over 10,000 firm orders received within the first hour of availability. This success underscores the strong demand for premium hybrid SUVs in the region.
