German automotive parts manufacturer Mahle has introduced its latest service unit, E-CARE Fluid, in Europe, designed for vehicle cooling maintenance. This cutting-edge solution simplifies the maintenance of cooling circuits in vehicles of all drive types.

The E-CARE Fluid unit enables automated emptying and refilling of the coolant circuit, particularly beneficial during high-voltage battery repairs or component replacements. Mechanics can also conduct a comprehensive inspection of the circuit for any leaks using a combined vacuum and pressure examination.

According to Mahle’s management committee member and lifecycle and mobility business unit head Philipp Grosse Kleimann, the company aims to prepare customers for the service of electric vehicles with the new service device. The E-CARE Fluid unit is equipped with two tanks – one for collecting drained coolant for reuse and the other for producing a coolant mixture as per manufacturer specifications, automatically refilling the circuit.

In addition, the device includes a cleaning feature to purge impurities and maintain a contaminant-free cooling system. Regularly changing coolant is essential for ensuring the efficiency of the cooling circuit, especially for electric and hybrid vehicles sensitive to temperature fluctuations.

The E-CARE Fluid unit comes with a 7-inch touch screen that guides mechanics through maintenance and leak testing. An integrated database for electric vehicles provides essential information on coolant types, cooling systems, and vehicle-specific test pressures. The unit also supports a manual procedure for hybrid and internal combustion engine vehicles.

Each E-CARE Fluid unit is accompanied by an accessory case containing approximately 20 adapters, catering to various vehicle types. The touch screen indicates the appropriate adapter for each vehicle, enhancing convenience and efficiency for mechanics.

With its automated features, cleaning function, and user-friendly interface, the E-CARE Fluid unit is set to streamline the maintenance process for modern vehicles.
