BMW Unveils New Range-Topping i4 M60 Electric Saloon

BMW has recently introduced the latest addition to its electric lineup, the i4 M60. This new model boasts an impressive 593bhp, surpassing the petrol-powered M4 CS by a significant 50bhp. With a starting price of £70,910, the i4 M60 is set to appeal to performance enthusiasts looking for an electrifying driving experience.

The i4 M60 replaces the previous i4 M50, offering enhanced performance capabilities. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds, a 0.2-second improvement over its predecessor. Despite being more affordable than the M4 CS, priced at around £50k less, the i4 M60 is nearly as quick, trailing the M4 CS by only 0.1 seconds in the sprint to 62mph.

However, the increased power of the i4 M60 comes with a trade-off in terms of range. While the eDrive40 model can cover 317 miles on a single charge, the i4 M60 is limited to 269 miles.

Aside from introducing the new range-topping model, BMW has also updated all versions of the i4 with more energy-efficient silicon-carbide inverters. This update is aimed at improving overall performance and efficiency across the entire i4 lineup.

Customers can expect deliveries of the updated i4 models to begin in the summer, with prices starting at £51,280 for the eDrive35 and reaching £59,375 for the eDrive40. Additionally, BMW has announced an extended warranty for the traction battery in all electric cars, new or used, purchased from April 1, 2025.

Under this warranty, BMW will address any capacity losses below 70% of the battery’s original capacity at no extra cost to the customer, providing added peace of mind for electric vehicle owners.
