Chery has introduced the all-new 4WD 7 model, boasting genuine off-road capabilities and a range of advanced features. Priced at £35,065, this SUV is designed to compete with the best in the market.
The 4WD 7 comes equipped with seven driving modes, impressive approach and departure angles of 21deg and 29deg, and a breakover angle of 200mm. Its Bosch-developed integrated power braking system can simulate a locking differential, enhancing its off-road performance.
European market versions of the 7 will feature bespoke suspension settings tailored for higher speeds and road conditions in the region. Peter Matkin, Chery’s development chief, emphasized the brand’s commitment to ensuring top-notch quality standards for the 7.
The exterior of the 7 showcases a rugged styling with a large front grille and chunky sidelines, distinguishing it from its predecessor, the 5. Inside, the Deluxe models feature a 13.8in portrait-mounted touchscreen, while the Luxury models come with a 14.8in version. All trim levels include surround-view cameras, synthetic leather seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The Luxury trim level adds an eight-speaker Sony audio system for an enhanced driving experience.
Interestingly, the ICE and PHEV models of the 7 sport slightly different interior designs. The ICE model features the gear shifter on the steering column and door handles reset in the door side, while the PHEV model has a gear selector in the center console and larger door rests. This design choice aims to give the ICE model a stripped-out EV feel and the PHEV model a more conventional and rugged appeal.
The 7 is now available for order, with the first UK deliveries scheduled for January 2025. With its impressive off-road capabilities, advanced features, and attention to detail, the Chery 4WD 7 is set to make a mark in the competitive SUV market.
