Nio Inc achieved a significant milestone in June with its deliveries reaching a new high for the year and the second-highest on record. The company delivered a total of 24,925 vehicles last month, marking a 17.52 percent year-on-year increase and a 7.29 percent month-on-month increase. This strong performance was within the guidance range set by the company for the second quarter, with a total of 72,056 vehicles delivered.
The main Nio brand, which targets the premium market, delivered 14,593 vehicles in June. Although this represented a year-on-year decrease of 31.19 percent, there was a healthy month-on-month increase of 9.97 percent. Onvo, the family car market brand, delivered 6,400 vehicles, showing a slight month-on-month increase of 1.89 percent. The small premium EV brand Firefly delivered 3,932 vehicles, marking a 6.85 percent increase from May.
Nio’s main brand recently launched updated versions of its popular models, including the ES6 SUV, EC6 coupe SUV, ET5 sedan, and ET5 Touring wagon. Onvo currently offers the L60 SUV and is set to start pre-sales of its flagship L90 three-row SUV next week. Firefly introduced a new battery as a service purchasing plan, reducing the starting price by over 30 percent.
In the second quarter, Nio Inc delivered a total of 72,056 vehicles, meeting the company’s guidance range. Deliveries for the quarter increased by 25.59 percent year-on-year and an impressive 71.18 percent quarter-on-quarter. The company’s management remains confident in doubling its annual delivery volume in 2025 compared to the previous year, aiming to deliver 443,940 vehicles by the end of the year.
To achieve this ambitious target, Nio Inc would need to maintain an average of about 55,000 deliveries per month in the second half of the year, presenting a challenging task. In the first half of the year, the Nio main brand delivered 74,445 vehicles, while Onvo and Firefly delivered 31,862 and 7,843 vehicles, respectively.
Looking ahead, Nio is gearing up to launch the next-generation ES8, a larger version of its predecessor measuring 5,280 mm in length. The new model is set to debut in the fourth quarter, further solidifying Nio’s position in the competitive electric vehicle market. With a strong lineup of updated models and innovative offerings like the BaaS purchasing plan, Nio Inc is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory and achieve its ambitious delivery targets for the year.
