Nio has recently made a significant move by appointing Green Car as its national distributor in Azerbaijan, marking the company’s entry into the Azerbaijani market. This strategic partnership will enable Nio to start delivering its electric vehicles in the country in the second quarter of 2025.

The announcement was made at a forum in the Azerbaijan Pavilion of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. Nio revealed that it will provide EV products and services to local customers through Green Car, a pioneering force in green technology in Azerbaijan.

Under the agreement, Green Car will serve as Nio’s national general distributor in Azerbaijan, working to establish local sales and service networks, including charging and swapping facilities, service centers, and Nio Houses. Additionally, Nio will develop digital products such as the Nio Azerbaijan website and mobile app to ensure a seamless user experience.

The partnership with Green Car represents a shift in Nio’s distribution strategy, as the company has traditionally favored a direct sales model. By partnering with a local distributor, Nio aims to better serve customers in international markets and accelerate its global expansion.

Nio’s entry into Azerbaijan follows its successful foray into the European market in 2021, where it has launched several models including the ES8, ET7, and ES6 under the renamed EL series due to trademark issues with Audi. The company has also established a network of battery swap stations, Nio Houses, and service centers across Europe.

In addition to expanding in Europe, Nio recently announced its entry into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with plans to commence business operations in the UAE starting in the fourth quarter of this year. The company’s decision to partner with Green Car in Azerbaijan underscores its commitment to serving customers in diverse markets and driving innovation in the EV industry.

Overall, Nio’s collaboration with Green Car in Azerbaijan represents a significant step towards strengthening its global presence and providing sustainable transportation solutions to customers worldwide. The company’s focus on research and development, coupled with strategic partnerships, will continue to drive its growth and success in the evolving EV market.
