NIO has officially unveiled its highly anticipated ET9, a large pure electric executive sedan that is set to make waves in the automotive industry. The ET9 is the first vehicle to be built on the NT 3.0 platform and offers two configurations: a standard version priced at 788,000 yuan and a limited-edition launch version priced at 818,000 yuan. Both versions also offer a battery rental option, bringing the prices down to 660,000 yuan and 690,000 yuan respectively. The limited-edition launch version is expected to start deliveries in March 2025, followed by the standard version.

The exterior design of the ET9 stays true to NIO’s signature style, with an active air intake at the lower bumper for improved aerodynamics. The split headlights feature Micro LED wide-angle lighting modules that eliminate glare for oncoming drivers and provide additional functionalities like lane line illumination. The sleek and aerodynamic side profile of the car, along with 17 optimized aerodynamic features, helps the ET9 achieve a drag coefficient of 0.243. With dimensions measuring 5324mm in length, 2016mm in width, and 1620mm in height, the ET9 boasts a wheelbase of 3250mm and offers a choice of five wheel designs ranging from 22 to 23 inches.

The interior of the ET9 is equally impressive, featuring the innovative Skyline display that extends across both the driver and passenger sides. A 15.6-inch AMOLED floating central touchscreen serves as the focal point, running the SkyOS operating system that seamlessly integrates vehicle control, intelligent driving features, cabin functions, and mobile connectivity. The front row is equipped with a full-focus AR HUD and the intelligent NOMI AI assistant, while the rear seating area includes two 14.5-inch NIO Link panoramic interconnected executive screens and an 8-inch rear center control screen. Additional features include seven sunshades, an intelligent electric refrigerator, an executive desk, a central safe, and three 50W wireless charging pads.

In terms of intelligent driving capabilities, the ET9 is equipped with the Aquila 2.0 super sensing system, which comprises 31 high-precision sensors including ultra-long-range LiDAR, 4D imaging radar, and multiple cameras. The car also features two self-developed 5nm intelligent driving chips that enable full-scenario intelligent driving coverage in various environments. The NOP+ pilot assist system allows for autonomous lane changes, overtaking, speed adjustments, and navigation in different road scenarios.

For passive safety, the ET9 utilizes a steel-aluminum-magnesium alloy composite body structure and high-strength steel. It comes standard with 9 airbags and adaptive load-limiting seat belts, as well as a high-speed tire blowout safety control system and rear-end collision protection system. The car’s powertrain consists of a silicon carbide high-performance pure electric four-wheel drive system with a combined system torque of 700 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. The ET9 is also equipped with a 100kWh battery that offers a CLTC range of up to 650km and can be replenished with 255km of range in just 5 minutes.

Overall, the NIO ET9 is a groundbreaking vehicle that combines cutting-edge technology, innovative design, and superior performance to set a new standard for electric executive sedans.
