Nio Firefly reaches 10,000th delivery milestone, European deliveries to begin soon

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) has achieved a significant milestone by delivering its 10,000th vehicle under the Firefly brand, marking a major accomplishment just three months after the brand’s launch. The delivery of the 10,000th Firefly vehicle was officially announced on the brand’s mobile app, solidifying its presence in the market.

With a total of 2,157 units delivered this month alone, Firefly is making a strong impact in the automotive industry. The brand is now gearing up to expand its reach to Europe, with deliveries set to begin in the near future. Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li confirmed the upcoming launch of Firefly in Europe, signaling a new chapter for the brand’s global expansion.

The Firefly brand was introduced on December 21, 2024, at Nio Day 2024, positioning itself as a premium compact car brand to rival Mini and Smart. The brand’s debut model, named Firefly, was officially unveiled on April 19, offering two trims with starting prices ranging from RMB 119,800 to RMB 125,800, inclusive of the battery pack.

Initially, Firefly did not offer a BaaS (battery as a service) purchase option. However, on June 24, a BaaS plan was introduced, lowering the purchase threshold to RMB 79,800 while requiring a monthly battery rental fee of RMB 399. This move aimed to make the brand more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

Since its launch, Firefly has been steadily increasing its deliveries, with 231 units delivered in the last two days of April and 3,680 and 3,932 units delivered in May and June, respectively. The brand’s success has paved the way for its expansion into the European market, following a 15-day road test in Europe to prepare for its entry.

Originally planned to launch in Europe first, Firefly had to adjust its strategy due to higher tariffs, leading to its initial launch in China. However, with preparations underway, Firefly is now poised to enter the European market between June and August, targeting about 20 overseas markets by the end of the year.

As Firefly continues to make waves in the automotive industry, its journey towards global expansion and market penetration remains a focal point for Nio. With the brand’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, Firefly is set to captivate audiences worldwide with its premium offerings and cutting-edge technology.
