Nio’s Firefly sub-brand is gearing up for its international debut, with plans to launch its first model in Europe between June and August this year. This comes on the heels of the small car’s successful launch in China earlier this month.
During a media roundtable in Shanghai, the co-founder and president of Nio revealed that Firefly will be introduced in about 20 overseas markets by the end of this year. Additionally, a right-hand-drive version of the vehicle is expected to be ready by October of this year, with initial availability in markets such as the UK and Southeast Asia.
One of the first markets to welcome the right-hand-drive version of Firefly will be Singapore, where Nio Inc is poised to sign a distributor agreement later this week. The company’s management expressed satisfaction with the order numbers for Firefly, indicating that they are in line with expectations.
The expansion of Firefly into international markets is a strategic move by Nio to increase its global footprint and tap into new customer bases. The electric vehicle maker is positioning Firefly as a key player in its product lineup, with projections indicating that the brand could contribute up to 10% of overall sales.
As Firefly prepares to make its mark on the global stage, Nio is focused on delivering a high-quality, innovative electric vehicle that meets the needs and preferences of consumers worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates on Firefly’s international journey and the latest developments from Nio.
