A Nio executive recently showcased the benefits of faster energy replenishment through battery swap technology for the upcoming Onvo L90 SUV model. The image revealed the charging port situated on the left rear side of the vehicle, aligning with the standard placement seen in most electric vehicles.

The Onvo L90, Nio’s highly anticipated model, was featured in a new image shared by Eric Yu, Nio’s assistant vice president and head of Onvo products, on the social media platform Weibo. The camouflaged vehicle was parked at a battery swap station area, hinting at the efficiency and convenience of the upcoming model.

Yu emphasized the impressive charging capabilities of the Onvo L90, stating that a full charge can be achieved in just three minutes, outpacing the time it takes to refuel a traditional vehicle. The image also highlighted the location of the charging port, which mirrors the design of mainstream electric vehicles.

The Onvo L60, the brand’s first model, was launched on September 19, 2024, with deliveries commencing on September 28. Following the success of the L60, Onvo is gearing up for the release of its second model, the Onvo L90, as confirmed by the brand’s president, Alan Ai, in a livestream announcement on February 21.

Scheduled for a debut in the second quarter of this year and an official launch in the third quarter, the Onvo L90 has been generating significant buzz within the electric vehicle market. With the release of the first official image on February 25, Onvo positioned itself as a formidable competitor alongside other leading EV manufacturers.

As Nio Inc continues to make strides in the EV industry, recent delivery figures indicate a strong performance in February, with a total of 13,192 vehicles delivered, including both Nio main brand and Onvo models. Additionally, the Onvo L60’s delivery wait time has been reduced to 2-4 weeks, reflecting the growing demand for Onvo’s electric SUVs.

In a direct comparison to Li Auto’s flagship SUV, the Onvo L90 is set to make a significant impact in the market, offering cutting-edge technology and efficient energy replenishment. Stay tuned for more updates on the Onvo L90 and other exciting developments in the electric vehicle landscape.
