Nio, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, experienced a significant surge in battery swap services during the recent Chinese New Year holiday break. As travel peaked during this period, Nio saw a record 136,720 battery swap services in a single day on February 3, marking a new high for the company.

Prior to the holiday, on January 25, there were 119,848 battery swap services in a single day, highlighting the increasing demand for Nio’s energy services. Between January 22 and February 5, Nio provided a total of 1,716,746 battery swap services, representing a 44 percent year-on-year increase.

During this two-week period, there were 12 days with more than 100,000 battery swap services in a single day, showcasing the popularity of Nio’s battery swap stations among users. In total, Nio users traveled a cumulative distance of 624,872,468 kilometers, equivalent to circling the Earth 15,592 times.

Notably, Nio users demonstrated a significant level of usage, with 1,888 users driving more than 5,000 kilometers and 78,204 users driving more than 500 kilometers in a single day. The most active Nio user accumulated 84 battery swaps during this period.

In response to the increased demand, Nio temporarily added 538 battery packs to its highway battery swap stations. The average time for users to complete a battery swap service was just 9 minutes and 16 seconds, representing an 11.89 percent improvement compared to the previous Chinese New Year break.

Additionally, Nio provided 1,065,435 charging services during this period, with more than 80 percent of the orders serving non-Nio users, including users of other prominent EV brands such as Tesla, BYD, and Li Auto.

As of February 7, Nio has 3,107 battery swap stations in China, with 964 located along highways. The company also operates 25,436 charging piles and has access to over 1.19 million third-party charging piles through its charging map.

Overall, Nio’s success during the Chinese New Year holiday break underscores the growing adoption of electric vehicles and the importance of efficient energy services in supporting EV users’ travel needs. With a strong network of battery swap stations and charging infrastructure, Nio continues to provide convenient and reliable solutions for its expanding user base.
