LeDao, the latest electric vehicle brand from NIO, unveiled its inaugural mid-sized SUV, the LeDao L60, on September 19th. With a starting price of 206,900 yuan, or 149,900 yuan with a battery rental option, the L60 is constructed on NIO’s advanced NT3.0 platform and will have access to NIO’s battery swap network. Every LeDao model comes equipped with a range of features, including autonomous parking, highway pilot, a 254TOPS intelligent driving chip, a 17.2-inch central touchscreen, a Qualcomm 8295P in-vehicle chip, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, an 18-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, power-adjustable second-row seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and vehicle-to-load capability.
Renowned automotive designer Raul Pires, formerly of Bentley, led the design of the LeDao L60, showcasing a distinctive aesthetic that distinguishes it from NIO’s existing lineup. The SUV boasts an aerodynamic profile with a Cd of 0.229, achieved through a closed-off front grille and split-headlight design. The “WAY UP” design theme signifies progress and complements the vehicle’s family-friendly appeal. The L60 is available in seven exterior colors for personalized customization.
The sporty side profile of the L60 features short overhangs, a coupe-like roof, muscular wheel arches, a low center of gravity, and an aggressive stance. With dimensions of 4,828mm in length, 1,930mm in width, and 1,616mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,950mm, the mid-size SUV offers ample space for passengers and cargo.
At the rear, the L60 boasts a liftback tailgate that opens wide for easy cargo loading. The vehicle can accommodate multiple suitcases, making it ideal for family outings with five occupants.
LeDao emphasizes intelligent driving capabilities, with the L60 featuring a comprehensive vision solution. Standard equipment includes 30 high-performance perception hardware components, such as a 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar, high-definition cameras, and 360-degree cameras for enhanced safety and awareness on the road.
Inside, the L60 boasts a minimalist design with four color options for a personalized touch. The steering wheel features two scroll wheels and a driver fatigue monitoring system, while a 17.2-inch LCD screen dominates the center console. The “SkyOS” operating system powers LeDao’s Coconut intelligent system, offering advanced intelligent applications for a seamless driving experience.
The L60 is equipped with front MacPherson strut and rear five-link independent suspension, along with an FSD variable damping suspension system for agile handling. Safety features include a high-strength occupant protection cell, battery protection cell, and 45 safety configurations for comprehensive protection.
Built on NIO’s NT3.0 platform, the L60 will utilize the NIO battery swap network. The vehicle will offer both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants, with different motor configurations and battery options for varying ranges. With impressive performance metrics, including energy consumption and acceleration time, the L60 promises a thrilling driving experience for electric vehicle enthusiasts.
