Infinite Machine, a mobility startup, has recently unveiled its second electric two-wheeler model called Olto. This moped is designed to be bike lane-ready and is set to make its mark in US cities. With a sleek design and high-tech features, the Olto brings a new level of sophistication to the e-bike market.

Following the success of the Cybertruck-inspired Infinite Machine P1, the company has now introduced a more accessible model that is easier to produce and purchase. The Olto retains the futuristic design elements that the company is known for, with metallic body panels and a modern aesthetic. However, the performance is more subdued, making it compliant with Class 2 e-bike regulations for use in bike lanes without the need for licensing or insurance.

The Olto features a top speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) and functional pedals, although they are more for show than practical use. The bike also includes a magnetic leveling feature for the pedals, making them more comfortable as footrests. Additionally, the Olto can be unlocked in “Off-road mode” to reach speeds of up to 33 mph (53 km/h).

Equipped with a UL-certified 48V 25Ah battery pack with 1.2 kWh capacity, the Olto offers a claimed range of 40 miles (64 km) in real-world conditions. The battery is easily removable and can be recharged using a home charging dock, with fast charging capabilities that can bring the battery to 50% in just an hour.

The Olto boasts a range of high-tech features typically found in automotive vehicles, including GPS and LTE tracking, anti-theft measures, full suspension, and advanced lighting systems. The moped also includes innovative design elements such as hidden wires, insertable sidewalls for increased cargo capacity, and a modular accessory system for added functionality.

While the Olto meets the criteria of a street-legal electric bicycle, it blurs the line between an e-bike and an electric motorcycle with its performance and features. Priced at $3,495, the Olto aims to provide a unique riding experience that combines the convenience of an e-bike with the sophistication of a motorcycle.

In conclusion, the Olto represents a new breed of electric two-wheelers that bridge the gap between bicycles and motorcycles. With its innovative design, advanced features, and compliance with regulations, the Olto is poised to revolutionize urban mobility and offer riders a new way to navigate city streets. Infinite Machine has set a high standard with the Olto, and it will be interesting to see how this moped fares in the competitive e-bike market.
