The highly anticipated Porsche Cayenne EV is set to make its debut later this year, and recent sightings of the electric SUV in the US have given us a glimpse of its sleek new design. Following the launch of the Macan EV last year, Porsche is gearing up to introduce its third electric vehicle, reaffirming its commitment to electrification despite plans for a new lineup of plug-in hybrid and gas-powered cars.
CEO Oliver Blume has promised that the fourth-gen Cayenne EV will “set standards in the segment as an electric SUV,” building on the major upgrades introduced to the gas-powered model in 2024. The first electric Cayenne prototypes hit the streets for testing last year, giving us a sneak peek at what to expect from the upcoming EV.
The latest sighting of the Cayenne EV in the US indicates that there will be a coupe variant available, featuring a more streamlined profile with a lower roofline for a sportier look. Based on the PPE platform that also underpins the Macan EV and Audi Q6 e-Tron, the Cayenne EV coupe is expected to offer comprehensive upgrades and improvements to deliver an impressive performance.
With the Macan EV boasting an EPA-estimated range of 308 miles and a WLTP rating of 381 miles, the Cayenne EV is expected to offer similar range capabilities. Scheduled to debut as a 2026 model later this year, Porsche is also working on a larger ultra-luxury electric SUV codenamed “K1,” set to launch in 2027.
As Porsche continues to push the boundaries of electric mobility, the Cayenne EV represents a significant step towards a sustainable future for the luxury automaker. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the official launch of the Porsche Cayenne EV.
