Remigo, a leading European electric boating brand, has recently unveiled its latest innovation in the form of the RemigoOne Neo outboard motor. This next-generation outboard motor builds upon the success of its predecessor, the RemigoOne, by offering a combination of increased power, intelligent controls, and refined design to the lightweight electric outboard market.
The standout feature of the RemigoOne Neo is its new boost mode, which allows the motor to deliver up to 1,500 watts of power – roughly equivalent to a four-horsepower gas outboard. This boost mode is perfect for situations where boaters need extra power to combat strong winds, currents, or to accelerate a heavier vessel. The boost mode lasts for 60 seconds before reverting back to the standard 1,000-watt cruising level, but can be easily reactivated with a tap of a button for continuous operation at full power.
According to Remigo CEO Marko Vrtovec, the boost mode provides skippers with an extra gear when needed without wasting battery power during regular cruising. The difference in power output between 1 kW and 1.5 kW may seem minimal during normal operation, but the extra torque and acceleration provided by the boost mode can make a significant difference in challenging conditions.
The RemigoOne Neo boasts a lightweight design, weighing in at just 15.5 kg with its integrated 1,085 Wh battery, or 13 kg without the mounting bracket. This makes it easy to carry and quick to set up, making it an ideal solution for tenders, dinghies, and recreational boats weighing up to 1.5 tons. Boaters can easily detach the motor from the transom and carry it with them while leaving the boat docked or moored.
In addition to its increased power, the RemigoOne Neo features a new propeller design that promises quieter, smoother, and more efficient performance. The streamlined blade-shaped housing not only enhances the motor’s visual appeal but also allows for precise low-speed steering even when the motor is not running, making maneuvering in tight spaces easier without relying on prop thrust.
The RemigoOne Neo can be recharged using a fast charger in around three hours, or from a solar panel or external battery for longer adventures or when shore power is not available. The motor also offers versatile control options, with both handheld and tiller-mounted remotes available.
The RemigoOne Neo is now available through Remigo’s international distributor and dealer network, priced at €2,400 (approximately US $2,800). With its combination of increased power, intelligent controls, and refined design, the RemigoOne Neo is set to make a significant impact in the lightweight electric outboard market.
