Buick Launches All-New GL8 Lu Zun PHEV Model

Buick, a brand under SAIC-GM, has introduced the latest addition to its lineup with the launch of the all-new GL8 Lu Zun, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle version of the GL8 Lu Zun series. The vehicle is available in three trims – Premium, Exclusive, and Luxury, with prices ranging from 339,900 yuan to 399,900 yuan.

The new GL8 Lu Zun maintains the same dimensions as its predecessor, measuring 5,219 mm in length, 1,878 mm in width, and 1,807 mm in height. It comes in three exterior colors – Purple Dawn, Aurora Silver, and Pearl White – and two interior schemes, Purple Dawn with Moonlight White and Mist Gray with Deep Indigo.

Equipped with the top-tier Avenir version, the GL8 Lu Zun offers more than 20 premium features across comfort, technology, and convenience categories. Highlights include Nappa leather seating, a 2.8-meter “silver-wing” courtesy light carpet, a 30-inch 6K curved EYEMAX display, and power-adjustable third-row seats. Additional functions like heated steering, a rear multifunction dock, and one-touch seat adjustment for the second and third rows enhance usability.

The interior upgrades include Nappa leather seating in all three rows, heated armrests and leg rests in the second row, and anti-motion-sickness frame design for comfort during long journeys.

Powering the vehicle is Buick’s upgraded “Zhenlong Pro” plug-in hybrid system, delivering 292 kW and 580 N·m of torque for a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.8 seconds. The model offers a combined CLTC range of 1,450 km and a battery-powered range of 202 km, with support for 5C ultra-fast charging.

In terms of safety, the GL8 Lu Zun features a six-longitudinal, ten-horizontal cage-style body structure and advanced thermal management for the battery. The model has undergone rigorous testing across various driving conditions prior to launch.

Buick’s GL8 family’s new energy vehicle models have been performing well in the market, with NEV sales accounting for more than half of total deliveries. The GL8 Lu Zun PHEV has become the flagship model in the new energy vehicle era, leading the MPV segment in China.

The new GL8 Lu Zun PHEV combines luxury, technology, and sustainability, making it a compelling choice for consumers looking for a premium plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
