The BYD global R&D center is located southeast of Xinbu Xin Road and north of Danzhi Avenue, with Shenzhen BYD Industrial Co., Ltd. as the designated land user. The bureau has granted the construction permit for the first phase of the project and revealed the center’s master layout plan.

The project covers an area of approximately 650,000 square meters and requires an estimated total investment of 20 billion yuan. The total floor area will exceed 3.3 million square meters, with the first phase covering 660,000 square meters. This includes 1.32 million square meters dedicated to R&D space and 300,000 square meters for talent accommodation.

The center will house over 50 cutting-edge technology laboratories and 11 major research institutes, focusing on automotive engineering, product planning, and new technology research. The goal is to attract more than 60,000 high-level R&D personnel globally, with over 50% holding master’s or doctoral degrees.

The first phase will consist of around 2.26 million square meters of floor area, while the second and third phases will cover 480,000 and 560,000 square meters, respectively. Construction of dormitories and research facilities is already underway.
