Nio Inc’s sub-brand Onvo is gearing up to release its next model, the L80 SUV, later this year. The L80 is generating a lot of excitement as it promises to be one of the largest models in the company’s lineup. Recent spy photos shared by a user on Xchuxing’s online community revealed a camouflaged Onvo L80, codenamed Blanc, which appears to be quite large in size.
Speculations suggest that the Onvo L80 could potentially be Nio Inc’s largest model in the short term, although the facelifted ES7, based on the next-generation platform NT 3.0, might surpass it in size. The user also mentioned that the upcoming facelifted ES7, internally known as Cetus, will also be a substantial vehicle, catering to the market’s demand for larger models at different price points.
Expected to be launched in the third to fourth quarter of this year, the Onvo L80 follows the brand’s first model, the L60, which debuted in September 2024. The L60, a five-seat mid-size SUV, has been well-received with a starting price of RMB 206,900 ($28,520), including the battery pack. Additionally, Onvo’s second car, benchmarked against Li Auto’s Li L8 or Li L9, is set to be released later this year.
Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li had previously hinted at the launch of a mid-to-large-size SUV in 2025, promising a revolutionary product that will surprise consumers. The company also plans to introduce two family SUVs this year, including a mid-to-large-size 6/7-seat SUV and a large five-seat SUV.
Furthermore, Nio Inc has announced plans for new product launches in every quarter of this year, with facelifts for its main selling models like ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6. These updates will include minor changes to the exterior and an updated interior with horizontal center screens, showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
