Stellantis Announces New Leadership Appointments in China

Stellantis, a global auto group, recently made key leadership adjustments for its China business. Pan Liyin has been appointed as the general manager of Stellantis (Shanghai) Automotive Co., Ltd., and as the acting general manager of Alfa Romeo China. Zeng Dihao will now serve as the deputy general manager of Stellantis (Shanghai) Automotive Co., Ltd., and as the general manager of Jeep China.

Stellantis (Shanghai) Automotive Co., Ltd. plays a vital role as the main business entity for Stellantis in the Chinese market. It oversees operations for popular brands such as Jeep, Alfa Romeo, DS, and Mopar.

Douglas Ostermann, the Chief Operating Officer for China and a member of Stellantis’ Top Executive Team China, expressed confidence in the management adjustments, stating that they will lead to enhanced imported vehicle products and after-sales services for Chinese consumers. Stellantis is committed to maintaining an asset-light business model in China, focusing on delivering high-quality products and services to its customers.

In addition to its operations in China, Stellantis has partnerships with Dongfeng Motor and investments in Leapmotor. Despite facing challenges in the Chinese market, including declining sales impacting profitability, Stellantis remains optimistic about its future prospects.

Financial reports from Stellantis show that the group’s net revenue for the first half of 2024 was €85 billion, a 14% decrease compared to the same period in 2023. Operating profit in China, India, and the Asia Pacific region also experienced a significant decline, falling by €237 million, an 80% drop from the previous year.

Stellantis is dedicated to overcoming these challenges and continuing to deliver innovative and high-quality vehicles to its customers in China and beyond. With a strong global presence and a commitment to excellence, Stellantis is well-positioned to navigate the ever-evolving automotive industry landscape.
