The Mustang’s New Appearance Pack Is a 1980s Fever Dream

Ford has introduced a new appearance package for the 2026 Mustang called the FX Pack, drawing inspiration from the 1980s era. This package combines retro styling cues with modern features to create a unique look for the seventh-generation Mustang.

One of the standout features of the FX Pack is the Adriatic Blue Metallic color, inspired by the teal color available on the third-generation Mustang. Paired with white accents, including the wheels, this color combination gives the Mustang a distinct retro vibe. The package includes two new rim designs finished in Oxford White, adding to the overall retro aesthetic.

The wheels on the FX Pack Mustangs are a highlight of the package. The standard wheel is a new version of the car’s 19-inch, five-spoke option, while the Performance Pack comes with a retro design wheel that harkens back to the Fox Body era. The wheels feature white center caps with an FX-specific font inspired by the 1987-1993 Mustangs.

White accents are also present on the 5.0-liter and GT badges, as well as the grille and taillights. The FX Pack includes white taillights that complement the Adriatic Blue Metallic color, creating a striking visual impact. Inside, the 80s theme continues with unique perforated leather inserts in black and white, reminiscent of plaid seats from that era.

City Silver and Adriatic Blue stitching can be found throughout the cabin, adding to the retro feel. The FX Pack also includes new seatbelt color options, such as International Orange, Prime Blue, and Black with a red stripe. These options, along with the unique styling elements, create a distinct look for the 2026 Mustang.

Customers will be able to add the white taillights from the FX Pack to their seventh-gen Mustang through the Ford Performance Parts catalog. The FX Pack will be available on the GT Premium trim with or without the Performance Package, in any body style, and with either transmission option. Order books for the 2026 Mustang will open later this month, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to customize their Mustang with this retro-inspired appearance package.
