UBTECH Robotics, Geely, and MAE Collaborate to Deploy Humanoid Robots in Automotive Manufacturing
Recently, UBTECH Robotics, Geely, and Miracle Automation Engineering (MAE) have come together to form a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the application of humanoid robots in intelligent manufacturing for the automotive and auto parts sectors. The goal is to create innovative demonstration applications that showcase the capabilities of humanoid robots in the manufacturing industry.
In early July, Geely’s ZEEKR 5G Smart Factory welcomed its first humanoid robot employee, UBTECH’s industrial humanoid robot Walker S Lite. This lightweight and rapidly deployable robot has been undergoing training at the factory for 21 days, where it has been collaborating with employees at the inbound loading station to handle material tasks. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in China, demonstrating the successful integration of humanoid robots into manufacturing processes.
UBTECH has been actively working on enhancing the capabilities of humanoid robots in key manufacturing sectors such as automotive and electronics. The company has formed partnerships with major automakers like NIO, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, and Geely Auto to develop demonstration production lines and factories for humanoid robots. These collaborations have led to large-scale applications of humanoid robots in typical manufacturing scenarios.
The partnership between UBTECH, Geely, and MAE is expected to drive the industrialization of humanoid robot technology and elevate intelligent manufacturing to new heights. UBTECH will leverage its expertise in AI and humanoid robots to support Geely in its electrification and intelligent transformation efforts. Geely, on the other hand, will provide application scenarios for UBTECH’s Walker S series and solutions to enhance smart manufacturing. MAE will contribute its engineering strengths to support the application of humanoid robots in production line data collection, process model development, and scenario improvement design.
This collaboration between UBTECH Robotics, Geely, and MAE signifies a significant step towards the integration of humanoid robots in automotive manufacturing, paving the way for more efficient and innovative production processes in the industry.
