UBTECH Robotics Secures 250-Million-Yuan Order for Humanoid Robots

Beijing (Gasgoo)- UBTECH ROBOTICS CORP LTD, a leading Chinese humanoid robots company, announced on September 3 that it has signed a contract worth 250 million yuan with a prominent domestic enterprise for its intelligent humanoid robot products and solutions. The focus of the contract is UBTECH’s latest innovation, the Walker S2 humanoid robot, with deliveries set to commence within the current year.

The Walker S2, unveiled in July, represents UBTECH’s cutting-edge industrial humanoid robot. It introduces a hot-swappable autonomous battery replacement system that enables continuous 24/7 operation, reduces maintenance costs, and boosts overall production efficiency.

The system incorporates real-time power monitoring and dynamic energy balancing, allowing dual batteries to charge and discharge simultaneously with seamless switching. With standardized battery modules and a zero-gap compartment design, rapid replacement is achievable, while precision positioning and compliant control algorithms ensure precise alignment. The robot has the capability to autonomously determine whether to recharge or swap batteries based on task priorities.

In addition to the Walker S2, UBTECH has unveiled a range of humanoid robots for industrial, commercial, and educational purposes, including the research and education model Tiangong Xingzhe, the industrial-grade Walker S1, and the commercial Walker C. Since its launch in March, Tiangong Xingzhe has garnered over 100 unit orders, with anticipated deliveries exceeding 300 units in the education and research segment this year.

Standing at 172 cm tall, Tiangong Xingzhe features a highly bionic torso structure and human-like motion control, powered by the general-purpose embodied intelligence platform “Hui Si Kai Wu” developed by the Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics. The robot is available in basic, mid-range, and high-end configurations, with the majority of current orders being for the mid-range and high-end models.

Overall, UBTECH’s Walker humanoid robot series has secured nearly 400 million yuan in contracts to date, with close to 50 million yuan fulfilled in the first half of this year. The company anticipates delivering 500 industrial humanoid robots in 2025, with an annual production capacity expected to surpass 1,000 units.
