Used Honda Prologue EVs are selling faster than expected

The Honda Prologue has taken the electric vehicle market by storm, quickly becoming one of the top-selling EVs in the US. In fact, it was the second-best-selling electric SUV behind the Tesla Model Y in the second half of 2024. Now, used models of the Honda Prologue are in high demand, with sales skyrocketing in July.

After delivering the first customer models in March, Honda has sold an average of over 5,000 Prologues every month. In November, it was the third best-selling EV in the US, trailing only Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3. Last month, it even outsold popular models like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai IONIQ 5, bringing the total number of Prologue units sold in the US to 52,500.

According to Cox Automotive’s latest EV Market Monitor report, used Honda Prologue EVs are selling faster than expected. In July, used EV sales rose sharply to 36,670, up 23.2% from June and 40% compared to last year. Honda saw the biggest increase in used EV sales, more than doubling month-over-month.

Tesla led used EV sales overall, with GM’s Chevy, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and Nissan rounding out the top five. However, Honda’s market share is steadily increasing as more customers opt for the popular Prologue model.

Used EV listing prices reached $35,263 last month, a 1.9% decrease from June. With the federal tax credit set to expire at the end of September, now is the perfect time to snag a Honda Prologue for under $40,000. Honda is even offering monthly leases as low as $159 in California and other ZEV states.

New EV sales also picked up in July, with over 130,000 EVs sold, marking a 26% increase from June. The electric vehicle market share reached 9.1%, the second-highest to date. As the industry gears up for the tax credit deadline, 11 brands posted their best EV sales of the year, with Tesla, Chevy, Hyundai, Ford, and Honda leading the pack.

Even Honda’s luxury brand, Acura, is seeing success in the EV market. The Acura ZDX has outsold the Cadillac Lyriq, based on the same GM Ultium platform. Sales are expected to continue growing as the market responds to real-time demand and brand-level dynamics.

With savings and incentives still available, there’s never been a better time to invest in an electric vehicle like the Honda Prologue. Take advantage of the discounts while they last and find great deals on the Honda Prologue in your area.
