Valmet Automotive has recently completed the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Zary, Poland, enhancing its capabilities in vehicle contract manufacturing and battery systems. The construction of extended high-tech manufacturing and logistics facilities has been completed, making the Zary plant a key site for the production of convertible roof systems and kinematic components, such as electric vehicle charging flaps and active spoilers.

The expansion project, which began in January 2025, was developed by Panattoni, a global industrial real estate developer. Valmet Automotive’s senior vice president of roof and kinematic systems, Remigiusz GrzeÅ›kowiak, expressed the significance of this investment in the company’s European expansion. The plant’s production capacity has been significantly increased, leading to the creation of over 300 new jobs and contributing to local economic development.

With the addition of 8,800m² of space, the total production area of the plant now exceeds 26,000m², allowing for the accommodation of increasing customer demands. The upgraded facilities include additional production and logistics space, as well as social and administrative areas, all tailored to meet Valmet Automotive’s specific operational needs.

The plant’s flexible layout enables quick adjustments to future production and logistics requirements, ensuring high levels of adaptability. Valmet Automotive’s CEO, Pasi Rannus, emphasized the importance of the Zary plant as a technology company and employer in the local community. The expansion of the plant will further strengthen the company’s position in the European automotive industry, enabling them to respond to the changing needs of customers with flexibility and competence.

Valmet Automotive operates a network across Finland, Poland, and Germany, providing a diverse range of services to the automotive sector. In 2022, the company announced that it had delivered one million battery packs to automotive clients in under three years, showcasing their commitment to innovation and excellence in the industry.
