Vehicle software company Sonatus has expanded its presence in Germany by launching a new office in Frankfurt. This strategic move aims to provide local expertise and support to major OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in the country. The Frankfurt office will serve as a hub for Sonatus’ operations in Germany, enabling closer collaboration with local automotive manufacturers and suppliers.
The establishment of this new office is expected to enhance customer relationships, expand service offerings, and drive growth in response to the growing demand for software-defined vehicle solutions. To spearhead its efforts in Germany, Sonatus has appointed Marcus Bortel as the director of business development, focusing on German car manufacturers. Bortel brings over two decades of experience in the embedded market and a decade specifically in the automotive sector.
Additionally, Peter Palasthy has joined the team as the global account manager, with a focus on building strategic relationships with German Tier-1 suppliers. Palasthy’s extensive 25-year career at Continental, where he oversaw €27m in global projects as the head of project administration at Continental Autonomous Mobility, provides valuable insights and expertise to Sonatus.
The expansion also includes the addition of Dominik Biber as a senior pre-sales engineer. With 15 years of experience in the automotive industry, Biber has held roles at QNX and Continental, where he managed software projects for autonomous driving initiatives.
In December 2024, Sonatus entered into a partnership with Smart Eye, a leading provider of AI-powered Driver Monitoring and Interior Sensing solutions. This collaboration combines Sonatus’s advanced SDV infrastructure, including Sonatus Automator AI, with Smart Eye’s expertise in driver and occupant monitoring to enable OEMs to deliver personalized and safer driving experiences.
Overall, Sonatus’s expansion in Germany signifies its commitment to providing cutting-edge software solutions to the automotive industry and strengthening its position as a key player in the evolving landscape of vehicle software technologies.
